Hiding Links

Recently, I caught wind of a request from one IDS Search site who wanted to hide links to RefWorks. Now, the glamour shots:

If you’re interested in finding out how, check out the instructions after the jump.

First, you’ll have to login to the Dashboard. Once you’re there, use the side navigation to get to the Customization area. Once you see your IDS Search Customization options, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you should see something like this:

Go ahead and flip that switch to turn on the Advanced CSS Customization; that will hide all the old easy options (though settings should be retained) and give you a CSS editor that will allow you to change text size, colors, hide links, and much more. But for now, lets focus on hiding those pesky RefWorks links.

Scroll down to the bottom of the CSS editing window and throw your cursor in the bottom. Adding just these two lines will hide the RefWorks links:
/* Remove RefWorks */
.worldcat_links_refworks {display:none;}

Of course, if you wish to hide the EndNote link as well, you can do that as well with just one more line; the class for that is worldcat_links_endnote.
